Lamai Triangle - Serengeti

The Lamai triangle covers 40,000 hectares (98,000 acres) of the northern-most tip of the  Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, slotted between the Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya in the north and the Mara River in the south. Distinctive soil composition results in one of the highest year-round concentrations of wildlife in the Serengeti National Park.

The annual wildebeest migration crosses the Mara River at various points and the camp’s location provides excellent opportunities to view the crossings. As the Lamai triangle forms part of the Mara eco-system, you will experience year-round concentrations of resident plains game, big cats, elephant and enormous populations of crocodile and hippo in the Mara river.

The main camp area features a covered lounge, dining area and bar with ample outside seating and generous deck areas with endless views of the Mara River. Wi-Fi access is available in the main lounge. Sumptuous and spacious decks encourage guests to live outside under the shade of pergolas, promoting a casual elegance of feet-up style. Screened splash pool with elevated seating and a sun deck, offer uninterrupted views. There is an outdoor shower and cloak room off the lounge deck. The attention to detail in the design is completely unexpected in a camp that has simplicity as its central theme.

Mara River Tented Camp

There are 6 tents spread out and set 100m back from the banks of the Mara River.

  • 4 tents that sleep 2 guests
  • 2 family tents that sleep 4 guests.
  • The family tents are configured as two identical tents, joined by a covered walkway and a shared deck.
  • Children over the age of 12 are welcome. In the interest of safety, participation of children in any game activity is at the discretion of their guide.

All the tents are identical with a walk-in bathroom, shower, toilet and vanity leading out to an open-air, completely private bath and vanity. The bath has a viewing section in the screen wall to allow for beautiful views from the tub over the river, in complete privacy. Each tent is positioned on a deck that is slightly elevated and these different levels create separate living spaces.
